Head Injuries Didn't Rise in Bike-Share Cities. They Actually Fell

A study published in the American Journal of Public Health headlined an increase in the proportion of head injuries (compared to all injuries) to cyclists, in cities that introduced bike share.

The paper failed to draw attention to the fact that the overall, absolute number of head injuries declined in bike-share cities, despite an overall increase in cycling trips. Other injuries declined even more, hence the increase in the proportion of head injuries.
