Slovenia drops plans for adult helmet law

This week the Ministry of Transport in Ljubliana announced that proposals to make the wearing of cycle helmets mandatory for adults would not now be included in forthcoming changes to the country's road rules. The proposed law has met a great deal of resistance among the public.

There is already a law in Slovenia requiring children under 14 years of age to wear helmets. However, it is understood that there are no penalties for disregarding it.
