Helmet laws: Iceland

Introduction and scope
Iceland introduced a helmet law for children under 15 years old in 1999. At the same time powers were granted to extend the law to all ages, although this has not yet been done.

Compliance and enforcement
Enforcement of the law is lax. Child helmet use following the law is understood to have fallen.
